The olny problem with the old style Union Movement was, that it tended to protect to non-producer in the workforce, the shift, at least in the US, seems to have gone a tad too far to the right. Now the employer has amazing power to set min wages etc. In fact many would be shocked to see the level of poverty of the working poor in the US
